The problem

Common Challenges in Food & Beverage

01

Stock That Expires

Ingredients go bad on the shelf because nobody sees the dates in time.

02

Unclear Recipe Costs

Ingredient prices change every month, but product prices stay the same.

03

Kitchen and Warehouse Don’t Match

Production uses stock that the system still shows as available.

04

Slow Batch Recalls

When a supplier reports a problem, finding the affected products takes too long.

01 · Batches and expiry

How Does Odoo Track Batches and Expiry Dates?

Odoo tracks every food product by batch, and each batch keeps its own expiry date. When stock is picked, Odoo suggests the batch that expires first, so older stock is used before it goes bad. This works for raw ingredients and finished products alike.

When a supplier calls about a bad delivery, you search the batch number in Odoo. You see which products were made with it and which customers received them. Your team also gets an alert before stock reaches its expiry date.

Who it’s for

Warehouse teams and quality managers.

Outcome

You know where every batch went.

02 · Recipes and production

Can Odoo Manage Recipes and Production?

Yes. In Odoo, a recipe is set up as a bill of materials. It lists each ingredient and the amount needed for one batch. When production starts, Odoo takes those ingredients out of stock and adds the finished product with its own batch number.

Production managers plan the week’s batches based on orders and stock on hand. If an ingredient is missing, they see it before the kitchen starts. Odoo Manufacturing is part of standard Odoo, and AzkaTech only adds customization when your process really needs it.

Who it’s for

Production managers and kitchen teams.

Outcome

Kitchen and warehouse work from the same numbers.

03 · Product costs

How Do You Know What Each Product Costs to Make?

Each production order in Odoo records the real cost of the ingredients it used. When an ingredient gets more expensive, the cost of the next batch changes with it. If you track labor and machine time, those can be added to the cost too.

Finance can then compare what each product costs with what it sells for. When a margin gets too thin, you see it in a report instead of finding out at the end of the year.

Who it’s for

Finance teams and owners.

Outcome

You see the margin on every product.

04 · Selling

Can Odoo Run Shops, Catering and Wholesale Orders?

Yes. Odoo has a Point of Sale for shops and cafés, and a Sales app for wholesale and catering orders. Both use the same stock, so a sale at the counter in one branch shows up at head office right away.

Catering orders are quoted with the menu items and quantities, and the client signs online. Wholesale customers get their own price list. At the end of the day, every sale goes into accounting without being typed again.

Who it’s for

Branch managers, sales and catering teams.

Outcome

Every sale updates the same stock.

How it works

How Does a Food Product Move Through Odoo?

  1. BuyPurchasing orders ingredients from approved suppliers.
  2. ReceiveThe warehouse records each batch and its expiry date.
  3. MakeA production order uses the recipe and creates a new batch.
  4. SellThe product is sold in a branch or delivered to a customer.
  5. ReportSales, costs and stock show up in the same reports.

Beyond production

More of the Business in One System

Quality Checks

Odoo Quality adds checks when goods arrive and during production. A failed check creates a quality alert for the team to follow up.

Purchasing and Suppliers

Supplier prices and delivery times are kept in Odoo. Reorder rules suggest a purchase when an ingredient runs low.

Warehouses and Branches

Each branch and warehouse has its own stock. Transfers between them are recorded, so nothing goes missing on the way.

Equipment Maintenance

Production equipment gets planned checks in Odoo Maintenance. Breakdowns are logged with repair time and notes.

Accounting and VAT

Sales, purchases and production costs feed the accounts. Finance gets VAT reports out of the same data.

Implementation

How Does AzkaTech Implement Odoo?

AzkaTech uses AI at every phase of the Odoo project, from the first workshop until after go-live.

AI-Powered Requirements Analysis

We interview key people in each department about how they work today. AI turns those notes into a clear list of what Odoo needs to cover.

Intelligent Test Case Generation

AI prepares test cases from your real recipes and orders. Your team runs them and signs off before launch.

05

AI capability · Governance

Predictive Go-Live Risk Monitoring

AI tracks open issues and training progress, so risks show up before launch day.

06

AI capability · Post Go-Live

AI-Driven User Support & Knowledge Base
