01 · Crops and batches
A farm spends money for months before it sells anything. Inputs are bought in bulk and labor is shared between crops. Then the harvest comes in at once. When the costs sit in one book and the sales in another, nobody can say which crop made money.
In Odoo, each crop or batch is tracked with the inputs it used and what it produced. Stock of inputs goes down as they are used. Sales and costs for the season sit on the same record, so the margin of each crop is visible.

02 · Traceability
Buyers of fresh food and seafood want to know where a product was raised and when it was harvested. If a problem is found, you have to know which other customers received the same batch. On paper that takes days.
Odoo gives each batch a lot number at harvest and keeps it through packing and delivery. Expiry dates sit on the lot. Starting with one delivery you can find the batch, and starting with a batch you can find every customer who received it.

03 · Solar projects
A solar company sells projects, not products. Each job starts with a survey and a quote, then equipment is ordered and a crew spends days on site. When the quote was built in a spreadsheet, nobody compares it with what the job really cost.
In Odoo, the quote becomes a project with its budget, and each cost lands on the project. Panels and parts are reserved for the job, and crew hours are logged against it. Invoices follow the stages agreed with the client.

04 · Equipment stock
Solar equipment is expensive and comes with long delivery times. Panels and inverters arrive by container, and each unit carries a serial number for its warranty. Without one stock, a job waits for parts that are sitting in the store, reserved for nobody.
Odoo tracks each unit by serial number, and shows what is free and what is reserved for a job. Import costs are added to the cost of the shipment. When a client calls about a warranty, the serial number shows which job it was installed on.
